Thank you! I use one almost daily, and I learned something new!✌️
Mind blown. Great idea!
Thank you for the excellent review.☺
Grazie😁😎
Excellente! The breakdown of moka pot basics is very good I watched this after making my own cup of coffee. I would also add the importance of grind size , but this is for more advanced. Thank you sir
Just found this today and watched your videos i have ordered one and got the discount with your code thank you.
Hi Matteo! I didn’t even know that portable espresso makers are existing, for me this is a game changer! Now I have to gain more information on this device. Thank you for video!
design not for home use brother and cera+ pro already with bottomless 58mm basket filter 🤣
In which coffee maker will it be easier to control the extraction of 6tz or maybe 3tz. Regards
😮
Bought my Brikka hoping it would produce crema, but alas it doesn't, your video is spot on.....👍
Thank you. To save money, I purchased the original Bialetti Moka pot with the E&B replacement filter at the same time instead of buying the E&B Moka pot setup. This approach cut the total cost for me in half. Great advice.
I tried 18 grams with 90ml water it works good with Bialetti Brikka Induction 4 cups , but the most important having a freshly beans and good grinder using filter water . The result is amazing . Living in Cluj Napoca Highly recommend Meron or Olivo Coffee beans
Very clear and useful presentation; many thanks Sir.
Wow never thought we could be this technical. Will gonna try moka pot soon
Incredible results after this change! Thank you for making my moka pot mornings awesome ❤
Excellent information
Awesome idea! but who is holding the iron for the time required to brew the coffee?
A great and analytic video that finally enlights us about the best type (for me) of coffe maker. The moka pot. Of course from a guy that comes from the mother land of moka pot Italy!!
i cuted v60 paper and try it in my moka lol it make huge bitternes
Its insane how he took a massive pause in between and still managed to have so much crema at the end
Like u‘re Video. U do it exactly the way i like it best. With the lid closed, the coffee tastes even better to me. I'd rather take a cautious peek under the lid in between.
Only brewing exactly what you need: game changer. This was the information I never knew I needed. Thank you so much, the change in taste is incredible!
It’s weak because you only brewed it for one minute! You have to brew for at least 3-4mins.
Awesome Matteo.. Thankyou😊
This is a work of art. Beautiful!
Thanks for all of the advice. Was that a 3 or 6 cup pot?
That was a 3 cups moka pot. But the system works for a 6 cups too
I use a one cup moka for this very reason. I only need a 30-35g shot for my flat white each moring, so using the one cup size just made sense. I use: 10g fine ground coffee (50 clicks on my Kingrider K4) 50g filtered, pre boiled water. I use a paper filter too.
Correct. Glad to hear that. And thanks for sharing your method 😊
Personally I have a 3 cup moka and a 6 pot moka. I almost only use my 3 cup to make the equivalent of 1 cup of espresso. I tried several grinds trying different microns with my Kingrinder K6. (90, 89, 88...etc. up to 60, or even finer still). I tried different waters. I tried this by pre-heating the water, starting cold water, starting to heat the cold water while I ground the coffee beans. I tried setting different intensities for heating. And finally as I only wanted an espresso, with my 3 cups, I tried by reducing the quantity of water. At 120-125 ml it's perfect! Then I tried different weights: 15, 16, 17... up to 20g, and I tried to go down too: 14, 13, 12,... I even tried 5 grams. (I also put a filter, but not always.) I find that 15 grams is still very strong and not necessary. Below 10g, it might be too few. So I put around 10-12 grams with 120 ml of water. (And a filter or not.) I put cold water in the moka pot and put it on medium-medium high heat while grinding the coffee. I soak the filter in lukewarm water. I place it on the upper side of the moka pot. I put my ground coffee with my K6 (between 60 and 70 microns). I close everything and wait for the coffee to brew, while scrubbing my K6 with the light brush, a toothbrush and a tissue and a little with my clean fingers. And then the coffee comes and I have 1 moka pot style espresso.
Thanks so much for your comment and for sharing your very well detailed method. 🙏🏻
You confirmed my darkest suspicions
Interesting stuff.
What inexpensive coffee grinder would you recomend? Thanks.
What’s your budget?
Completely agree 👍 i have three various moka pots just for this reason😊
I fill it to the little knob on the side and over fill the coffee since I’m Puerto Rican but I do it Cuban style. The times change so no one really follows directions.
Hi Matteo, thanks for this interesting video. It's not clear to me the quantity of coffee used in the experiment. I use to put 18g of coffee for a 3 cups moka pot, but I see you are putting 16g. How much coffee do you advice to put in? Thank you
Hi Tommy, thanks for the comment. The quantity of coffee in the basket can be different based on the coffee you are using. Some of them have higher density than others. For example roasting profile can determine this. Dark roasted coffee is less dense than light. So in the same volume (moka pot basket), dark roast coffee weigh less. In my experience the basket can fit in between 16 to 20 gr. I suggest to fill the basket completely and from this you see the weight for that specific coffee
@@matteofromtheswamps Thank you a lot.
Nice bro❤❤❤❤
I have been using this same pot now for one month and it consistently brews excellent tasting coffee .
no way I can get 18g of coffee in the 3 cup Moka basket.
Please make a video about Bialetti Venus series comparison with regular moka pot. I got a 4oz Venus, it's constantly burning the coffee, and it's impossible to achieve an even extraction.
I think the Bialetti 6 cup's coffee basket is too big. If you fill it up to the brim it results in a too strong coffee to my taste. I prefer the Alessi Pulcina for many reasons (3 cups in this case) - the basket size is perfect when filled to the brim, there is never any spluttering at the end of the brew, and it comes with a heat distribution plate built-in ;-). The basket holds anywhere between 17.2 and 18 grams of coffee (depending on the kind of coffee) and results in a perfect brew with 140 grams of water. I use this "pre infusion method" where I take off the pot from the fire as soon as the first coffee comes out, then when the flow is almost gone I put the pot back on a really small fire. I no longer use my Bialetti... Years ago I did try less water and less coffee, but that doesn't give a good moka. I stopped doing that.
These products are just rebranding product in china. I have seen tons of these selling without name or different name. Cost 50$ is outrageous as they only sell for 10$ or less
Or you can make 6 cups, and only drink what you want and save/dump the rest. 🤷♂️ Also, I drink 6 cups myself in one sitting almost every day.
In my experience I can go down to half the capacity in a Moka Pot. So you could do 3 cups in a 6 cup Moka pot pretty well. Put water in 1:10 ratio and expect approximately 2/3 of the water as the volume of coffee.
Can you use a floor pump instead (which is quiet)?
The video doesn't answer the question "how do I brew a softer coffee with the same amount of water?" I have a 3 cup moka, and I don't want to use less water or the amount of coffee is too small. Also I have IBS and the coffee ends up being too strong for me filling the basket to the top, so using just half of it is the better way to get a softer coffee. Probably an ideal solution would be to have smaller baskets to get different strengths.
I'm not sure I understand you correctly, but I would try a 1 cup moka pot, and if that's too strong, then easy, just add a little hot water.
Unnecessary to use a paper filter, but always fill the pot properly with the best ground coffee. (Spring) Water until just under the valve and your cuppa will be perfect!
Maybe unnecessary, but i think the clarity of the resultant liquor improves the overall mouth experience..IMHO. I have brewed without the filter and I find there is a distinct difference in mouth feel. But as always, YMMV...😊
what if put less coffee but regular watter but stop it when 40ml water coming up in 3cup?
I have a question on ground size, If I use an espresso ground it seems more bitter. Is there a better grind size I should use in my Moka pot?
My moka grind is halfway between espresso fine and french press coarse, slightly finer than pour over, and it tastes amazing
I had that issue, someone on this sub told me to grind coarser, so after a little experimentation, i got very nice results.
@@PatrickD707 thanks I'll give it a try
Not sure if this helps but I've been getting good results so far (only had it a few days) using the same grind setting on my hand grinder as for an AeroPress.
Should i use hot water or normal room temperature water?
He's got a whole video for that question.
Who brews "less coffee???" I had a 3 cup Moka. Sold it and bought a 6 cup Moka. Currently considering selling that Moka for a 10 cup Moka! The Alessi-Sapper series Moka includes a device to split the basket in half. I tried it....ONCE. Yuck.
